Overview

We are seeking a detailed and team-oriented professional to join our team as a Commercial/Ag Loan Closing Specialist! The Commercial/Ag Loan Closing Specialist is responsible for providing a smooth loan process for our clients and ensure the bank’s security by reviewing post-closing documentation to confirm it has all been fully executed and is accurate. They will perfect the bank’s interest in collateral and validate all contingencies have clear. They will work with customers, third party vendors and the Commercial/Ag loan teams to ensure the loan document package is complete, then they will accurately book the loan to the core system and fund the loan. This role will remain knowledgeable in determining proper documentation and providing excellent customer service to customers and support customer retentions and business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Monitor outstanding document packages and work with Lenders to get document packages executed timely.
  • Verify executed closing packages for signatures and completeness.
  • Organize documents for uploading to the imaging system, Director, for permanent electronic storage.
  • Review and process daily loan booking requests, tasks/tickets, and make corrections and adjustments as necessary.
  • Onboard new loans directly to the Navigator system including, but not limited to commercial, commercial real estate, agricultural, participation and municipal loans. Make corrections and adjustments as necessary in Navigator.
  • Disburse loans and make monetary transactions as indicated on the disbursement documentation.
  • Obtain collateral perfection according to requirements of Loan Approval.
  • Review compliance requirements are met and accurate, including but not limited to CIP/CRA/HMDA/Beneficial Ownership, etc. and enter data into related systems/programs.
  • Review and verify hazard insurance coverage meets loan requirements.
  • Review and monitor tickler report for final title policies, recorded documents, vehicle titles, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining and producing procedures for tasks in job description.
  • Advise management of issues, anomalies, etc.
  • Promote and maintain positive relations with all internal and external contacts, customers, and potential customers.
  • Promptly respond to customer inquiries and assist in problem solving customer issues/needs.
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned.
  • Assist team members with problem solving issues during the post-closing process.

Adhere to all Bank Security/Compliance Regulations

  • Complete all annual bank security and compliance training.
  • Adhere to bank security/compliance and policy guidelines for retail/commercial loan area.
  • Always maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Stay current on all compliance regulations, required through training and daily education.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in finance, accounting, business and/or similar field of education and/or 1-2 previous work experience in a financial institution setting.
  • Previous experience working with high profile clients and/or direct customer service experience.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) to communicate and relate effectively with customers and associates.
  • Good accounting/math skills with the ability to work precisely with numbers and financial calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple priorities efficiently & accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability in exercising independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and to provide ownership over own work to get the job done.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and remain calm while working in a fast paced/deadline driven environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, proficient typing/keyboarding skills and the ability and willingness to learn new programs and software.
  • Ability to maintain confidential customer information.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English clearly.
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional, positive manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a loan operations area or lending environment, preferably within a financial institution setting.
  • Previous experience with FISERV operating systems.
  • Good understanding of financial products and services.

 

 

This position is a full time position with hours of 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday with the flexibility.
