Overview

We are in search of a customer driven Agriculture Intern (Summer 2025) to support and learn from our Agriculture team in our Evansville market during the summer of 2025 with a focus on ag retail. The Agricultural Intern is primarily responsible for assisting Ag Retail Staff. In addition, this role will support the Agriculture and Business Lenders and the Crop Insurance Department with general office duties and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Bank Mission and Brand, organizational structure, employee handbook, bank security, policies and procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Assist Retail Bankers with opening deposit accounts for agricultural customers including but not limited to checking, savings, CDs as well as properly completing all account paperwork.
  • Assist Bankers with selling deposit and consumer loan products and services by utilizing effective sales skills including listening, being persuasive and building confidence and trust with customers and potential customers.
  • Assist with customer communication, information gathering and inputting customer data and creating detailed reports.
  • Utilize crop insurance mapping programs to generate reports and input data to customer files.
  • Attend farm and business visits with lenders and crop insurance agents.
  • Make public appearances with Ag Team at events that are sponsored by Lake Ridge Bank such as Dairy Breakfasts, Pork Cookouts, and County Fairs.
  • Participation in local Agricultural events, to include occasional evening events.

Qualifications

  • Working toward an Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Certificate in the Agricultural field
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interact and communicate with a diverse group of associates
  • High level of customer service skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Flexibility with the ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and work in a fast-paced environment

This position is a summer position with hours of 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday.  Flexibility in scheduling may be needed on occasion.
